Public Service Announcement: 21-Gun Salute During the Canadian Forces' Farewell Ceremony to the Governor General and Commander-In-Chief of Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2010) - The Canadian Forces Support Unit (Ottawa) would like to advise residents of LeBreton Flats and surrounding areas that there will be a 21-Gun Salute during the Canadian Forces' farewell ceremony for Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 around 1 p.m. at the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa. 

The 21-Gun salute is the firing of 21 rounds of blank ammunition in 10-second intervals. This salute is scheduled to begin at approximately 1 p.m. and will last for approximately three minutes. Residents are advised that this is purely ceremonial in nature and that at no time will safety or security be in jeopardy.
