Public Service Announcement: Blank Ammunition to Be Fired at Ceremony in North Bay, Ontario


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 18, 2012) - Blank ammunition will be fired at a graveside ceremony on October 20, 2012 at approximately 11a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in North Bay. The ceremony will honour Private John Jack Friel, a veteran of World War I (WWI) from The Algonquin Regiment who is buried in this cemetery.

Approximately 20 army reservists from The Algonquin Regiment will take part in this graveside ceremony that will commence at 10:30a.m., October 20, 2012.

The Regiment is honored to participate in this event as our history and heritage is not only important to its members but also to the family who can witness their relative's memory honored with a new and more recognizable gravestone.
