Public Service Announcement: Canadian Forces Hosts Community Day in Cochrane


COCHRANE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 20, 2013) - As part of the Community Day celebrations to be held on Friday, February 22nd, 2013, members of the Canadian Army, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and members of the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre will be on hand to meet the community of Cochrane from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Tim Horton's Centre in Cochrane, Ontario. Canadian Forces personnel will be on hand showcasing military equipment including a wide range of army vehicles and a CH-146 Griffon helicopter.

Close to 1,500 members of the Canadian Forces took part in Exercise TRILLIUM RESPONSE 2013, named for Joint Task Force Central's annual field training exercise aimed at developing and maintaining the capability and expertise to conduct various operations in remote areas and austere conditions. This year's exercise focused on a Defence of Canada scenario in Cochrane, Otter Rapids, Fraserdale and Moosonee, Ontario, and took place from February 11 to 21, 2013, although personnel were in location from February 8 up to the 26, 2013.
