Public Service Announcement: CF-18 Hornet Flyby in Toronto Sunday

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 8, 2011) - The skies over the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) grounds in Toronto and Lake Ontario will roar to life on Sunday when up to two Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet jets conduct flybys to kick off the Honda Indy race.

The flybys will kick off the race shortly after 2:30 p.m. on July 10. During the flyby, the jets will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in their path before resuming a higher flying altitude for the return to home base at Bagotville, QC.

Flybys by CF aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times.

Canada's Air Force is proud to share in your community events with flybys such as this, which allow us to demonstrate to Canadians the skills we have honed with the effective aircraft entrusted to us.

To submit a request for a flyby, event organizers can go to www.airshows.forces.gc.ca. Please note the deadline for submissions is normally 90 days in advance.
