Public Service Announcement: Familiarization Exercise in Austere Winter Conditions at Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults, QC

SAINTE-BRIGITTE-DES-SAULTS, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 13, 2014) - 51 Field Ambulance, located in Montreal, will conduct an exercise designed to familiarize themselves with dismounted operations in austere winter conditions. This exercise will occur from March 14-16, 2014, at 1350 Rang Saint-Joseph, Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults, in the area of Drummondville.

We would like to advise the general population of the presence of military reservists and cadets on this property throughout the duration. The purpose of the exercise is to maintain and increase the skill level of the Canadian Armed Forces to meet the demands of integrated medical support for operations in the North. The exercise will revise and implement the concept of winter indoctrination, practice evacuation procedures in austere winter conditions, and conduct community outreach by providing technical support to the cadets.

The medical technicians of the 51st Field Ambulance will partner with the 55th Field Ambulance from Quebec City and the Cadets Corps 898 Optimiste Brossard Squadron. This joint exercise will be conducted in the form of an adventure training exercise.

The 51st Field Ambulance of Montreal is a military reserve medical unit whose mission is to provide qualified personnel to support the operations and activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
