Public Service Announcement: Gun Salute on Parliament Hill for Prime Minister of India

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 15, 2015) - The Prime Minister of India will receive a 19-gun salute at Parliament Hill at approximately 11:00 a.m. on April 15th.

Although the firing of blank artillery rounds is very safe, local residents and visitors may notice a succession of loud noises coming from the east side of Parliament Hill.

Three 105-mm C3 howitzers from 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery will be positioned at Parliament Hill for the firing. Each gun will fire a blank round, in succession with a standard interval of 10-seconds, for a total of 6 for each gun + 1 round for the first gun to achieve the 19 rounds total.
