ST-LAMBERT, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 20, 2014) - 51st Field Ambulance, located in Montreal, will participate in a simulated mass casualty management exercise from Saturday, February 22 to Sunday, February 23, at College Champlain in St- Lambert.
We would like to advise the general population that some of these simulated casualties will be visible from the Champlain College parking lot where 51st Field Ambulance will practise triage procedures before removing "casualties" inside the building. Make-up and special effects will be used to increase the realism of the simulated casualties to challenge the participants who will be practising triage techniques and medical care.
The medical technicians of 51st Field Ambulance will act in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and College Chaplain St-Lambert. This joint exercise will allow interns from the emergency medicine program and nursing students at College Chaplain to also develop their skills in this particular domain.
The 51st Field Ambulance of Montreal is a military reserve medical unit whose mission is to provide qualified personnel in support of Canadian Armed Forces operations and activities.
