Public Service Announcement: Oshawa Reservists Train in North-Western Durham Region

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 4, 2014) - Members of The Ontario Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps) will conduct military training on April 5, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Claremont, Broughm, and Stouffville.

The majority of this vehicle training will take place on low-traffic concession roads involving six military vehicles. Motorist are asked to remain alert as our training scenario is aimed at developing reconnaissance skills and may involve frequently stops.

The overall aim of this training is to provide soldiers with the opportunity to practice the foundational skills needed to conduct reconnaissance tasks proficiently during future deployments. No standard service rifles or ammunition will be used during this training.

The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) is one of the oldest continuously serving regiments in Canada and is the only reserve unit in the Region of Durham.
