Public Service Announcement: RCAF to conduct flyby for Remembrance Day ceremony at Toronto's Mount Pleasant Cemetery


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 10, 2016) - National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces

Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircrews will conduct a flyby of the Remembrance Day ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto at approximately 11 a.m. on November 11.

The flyby will consist of a CC-130H Hercules from 8 Wing Trenton, Ont.

Media and members of the public are invited to join the William G. Barker Legacy Group and Lieutenant-General Mike Hood, Commander, RCAF for this Remembrance Day Ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The ceremony will be held on the steps of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Mausoleum near the monument dedicated to the RCAF's Lieutenant-Colonel William Barker, the most decorated war hero in Canadian history.

The full Remembrance Day service, hosted the William G. Barker Legacy Group at the Mausoleum in Mount Pleasance Cemetery, will include remarks by Lieutenant-General Hood.

During the flyby, the aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle in the flightpath. Flybys by RCAF aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times.
