Public Service Announcement: Road Movements Between Valcartier and Gagetown

VALCARTIER, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 14, 2016) -

Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this press release.

Close to 260 wheeled military vehicles of all types will set out from Valcartier, in the Québec City region, towards Gagetown Base, New Brunswick, between October 17 and November 1, 2016.

The military vehicles will set out from Valcartier at regular intervals so as not to impede the flow of traffic and travel east successively on Highway 573, 73 and 20. Convoys will then go south on Route 185 to Edmundston and on Highway 2 until they reach their destination (Gagetown).

In Gagetown, the vehicles will be used for the training of about 1,000 soldiers, mainly from 12e Régiment blindé du Canada, as well as 2nd and 3rd Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment.

At the end of the training period, the Valcartier-based troops will gradually return home using the same route in the opposite direction.
