Puma Exploration: 21.1 g/t Au Over the Extension of the Cullinan Veins at Nicholas-Denys

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 20, 2011) - Puma Exploration (TSX VENTURE:PUM) is pleased to announce the discovery of the extension of the Cullinan gold-silver structure over more than 300 metres, with 21.1 g/t Au and 106 g/t Ag, during the trenching program on its Nicholas-Denys property in New Brunswick.

The analysis of the Cullinan showing combined with the exploration targets defined by the geochemical and geophysical surveys led to the discovery that the Cullinan veins extend more than 300 metres toward the south of the property. These veins contain high grade gold and silver, with concentrations of 21.1 g/t Au and 106 g/t Ag revealed in a surface grab sample. Moreover, seven samples contain gold grades above 10 g/t Au. The mineralization appears as numerous parallel veins of massive sulphides over about 5 metres, varying in thickness from 10 to 50 cm each. The orientation of these structures is generally NW-SE to WNW-ESE.

Previous drilling in the Cullinan showing revealed significant amounts of precious metals. Drillhole 688-16 intersected 214 g/t Ag over 11 metres and drillhole 688-18, 142 g/t Ag over 3.3 m. The surface sampling also exposed silver values as high as 3,470 g/t Ag with a 30% concentration of lead for one of these veins.

"These preliminary results are very encouraging. The area in question is technically easy to explore by trenching. Not only is there major mineralization at the surface, but the thickness of the ground above the bedrock is negligible. These factors are key because they make it easy to obtain geological information that is relevant and essential for the discovery of major lenses at a relatively low cost compared to a drilling program," notes Marcel Robillard, president of Puma Exploration.

Current work at Nicholas-Denys

After studying the previous mineralized showings (press release of 23/08/2011), Puma carried out a series of trenches for a total length of 5,000 metres between the Haché and Henry lenses. The area explored is only 1/6 of the total length of the favourable corridor, which extends over more than 10 km. The discovery of the structures rich in silver and gold represents a key step toward the discovery of new lenses displaying similar characteristics to the Shaft and Haché lenses. Puma's teams are busy with major stripping efforts on the mineralized zones discovered during the trenching program.

About Nicholas-Denys

The Nicholas-Denys property is located only 20 kilometres north of Bathurst and is part of the Bathurst Mining Camp of northern New Brunswick. The property is accessible by road all year round and is intersected by a power line. The Nicholas-Denys property is 6,750 hectares and is part of Puma's 10,476 hectare holdings which include the Turgeon Copper Deposit.
