Puma Exploration Inc.: 138 g/t Ag, 2.1% Zn, and 3.4% Pb over 4.7 metres in the Hache Lens at Nicholas-Denys, NB

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2008) - Puma Exploration (TSX VENTURE:PUM) has just received the results from the last 13 holes drilled on the Hache lens at the Nicholas-Denys project in New Brunswick. Five holes intersected the mineralized lens over thicknesses ranging from three to seven metres, including 138 g/t Ag, 2.1% Zn, and 3.4% Pb over 4.7 metres. The other holes were designed to follow the extensions of the mineralization on surface, to the west of the lens.

A total of 66 holes have been drilled on the Hache lens since work started in 2005. The drilling has enabled the mineralization to be traced on surface over a distance of about 200 metres, twice the length used in the minerals resource calculation released in February 2007 (Press Release 27/02/2008).

The mineralization's continuation directly beneath the lens has been confirmed to a vertical depth of 150 metres. A complex system of faults has displaced the Hache lens westwards at depth, where it was intersected by drillholes at a vertical depth of more than 250 metres (Press Release 13/08/2008). On surface, the westward extension of the Hache lens is marked by several massive sulphide veins several tens of cm thick, with high gold and silver values including 411 g/t Ag and 1.0 g/t Au over 0.7 metres, also 211 g/t Ag and 3.6 g/t Au over 1.0 metres.

These gold- and silver-rich massive sulphide veins confirm the presence of the mineralizing fluid that carried the precious metals, which have a major impact on the economic assessment of the project and its development. Accordingly, a detailed study of the spatial distribution of the veins will enable a prioritization of these gold- and silver-rich structures in the vicinity of the mineralized lenses, to be revealed by forthcoming drill campaigns.

Current Program

Since the beginning of 2008, 78 boreholes have been drilled in the vicinity of the Hache and Shaft lenses, for a total advance of 18,592 metres. Results from the last six deep holes drilled on the Shaft lens will be released shortly.

Regarding Puma

Puma Exploration is concentrating its exploration activities in New Brunswick on its Nicholas-Denys mineral property, located near Bathurst. The Company believes it is in a position to define enough ore to start a mining operation with a target resource of three to five million tonnes.

The samples were analyzed at the ALS Chemex laboratory in Val d'Or using the atomic absorption and ICP methods.
