Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union Purchases Experian QAS Address Verification Software

Credit Union Rolls Out Verification Tools to Reduce Returned Mail and Comply With USPS® Move Update Changes

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - October 21, 2009) - Experian® QAS®, a leading provider of address verification software and services, announced today that Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) has purchased products and services to provide address verification on its online banking portal to reduce returned mail and comply with USPS® Move Update changes.

"We realized it was taking a long time for our staff to work through returned mail," said Michelle Gustin, IT Services Manager, PEFCU. "With cleaner, more standardized addresses, we anticipate seeing not only a reduction in returned mail, but also a higher success rate of members receiving communications."

PEFCU will be using QAS Pro Web on its Web site to ensure address accuracy through its online banking portal. In addition, since PEFCU sends more than 35,000 pieces of bulk mailings a month, it needed to comply with USPS® Move Update changes. Recent changes require the group to scrub its address files with an approved USPS® method less than 95 days prior to a bulk mailing. QAS Professional Services will run the credit union's addresses against the NCOALink® file, an approved method for Move Update compliance by the USPS®, quarterly.

"Contact data entered by members themselves on a Web site is often the worst data in a database," said Joel Curry, chief operating officer, Experian QAS. "By cleaning this data on the front-end, Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union will not only make its Move Update compliance more effective, but also improve overall member communication efforts."

About PEFCU

What began in a small office on Purdue's campus and with a simple cigar box to hold members' funds 40 years ago now boasts assets exceeding $550 million and serves more than 57,000 members nationwide. PEFCU serves its members with six regular branches, two in-school branches, and a robust offering of online and mobile banking services.

PEFCU offers its members an array of financial products including locally serviced mortgage and consumer loan products -- first mortgages, home equity loans, vehicle loans, credit cards, secured loans and more -- savings and money market accounts, checking accounts with direct deposit, individual retirement accounts and business accounts.

And today, when so many financial institutions are struggling in a weakened economy, PEFCU remains strong because it has stayed true to its original purpose -- people helping people. Its 2008 membership satisfaction scores set record highs with an average quarterly score of 97.37 percent, illustrating its core commitment to meeting members' needs.
