Purina and Mondo Studios Develop New Online Game for the Friskies® Brand

Validated by Consumer Study, Mondo Studios and Nestle Purina PetCare Company Release Wonderland Quest II for Friskies' Industry-Leading Cat Foods

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 22, 2010) -  Mondo Studios, the creator of engaging multi-platform brand integrated games, today announced the release of Wonderland Quest II, the second in a series of compelling interactive games developed for Nestlé Purina PetCare Company that are inspired by Friskies dry cat food and the feline dining experience. The new game was developed after compelling research demonstrated the significant positive brand impact of the original Wonderland Quest.

Wonderland Quest II tours four fantastical worlds that are inspired by Friskies dry cat food. Each world provides a different variety and represents a unique experience. The object of the game is to find the hidden objects in each of the four worlds. The original Wonderland Quest, which was developed for both online and mobile (iPhone) platforms, has been played more than 2.6 million times for an average of 10 minutes per session.

To evaluate the effectiveness of Mondo Studios' brand integrated games, a research study of consumers was commissioned by Purina and conducted by Dynamic Logic. The study tested the real brand impact of the first Wonderland Quest game on purchase intent and brand perception. The results of the study found that:

  • Wonderland Quest positively influenced the purchase intent of Friskies dry cat food among buyers and non-buyers of Friskies
  • Among Friskies buyers, the game had a positive impact on brand loyalty and influenced the purchase intent of specific varieties of Friskies cat foods
  • Among most groups the game also enhanced the Friskies brand perceptions of taste, variety and mealtime experience
