PVBLIC Commits to Award the Winner With a $20,000 Cash Prize and a Billboard Placed in the Big Apple's Times Square and in Hollywood, Los Angeles

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 1, 2016) - PVBLIC Foundation has officially announced its Filmmaker Award at the Impact House during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT. The award aims to increase issue awareness around important causes and help amplify their message through film. The best filmmaker will be announced at the next Sundance Festival in 2017 and will receive $20,000 in cash and 2 billboards, one in Times Square, NY and the other one in Hollywood, LA, to feature the film.

The submission will open in May at PVBLIC's Media for Social Impact Summit that will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Deadline for submissions is on October 31, 2016.

The award follows a four-year tradition of the Foundation's efforts to encourage social impact films such as: Girl Rising, Food Chains, Sold and Watchers of the Sky. PVBLIC is one of the first organizations recognizing the filmmaker's talent for their work in driving social impact through media.

Kerry Propper, PVBLIC Foundation Board Member, stressed: "As a producer myself I look forward to supporting others that are using their creativity and resources to tell stories of impact from around the world."

Antonio Ruiz-Gimenez, President of PVBLIC, joins Mr Propper and adds: "As PVBLIC we believe in the power of media for social impact and are proud to add this award to the work we do".
