PW308C Engine Readies to Power the New Dassault Falcon 2000S Business Jet

Achieves 1 million hours of flight on Dassault's 2000EX, LX and 2000DX models

PW300 family achieves more than 11 million hours of flight

ORLANDO, FLORIDA--(Marketwire - Oct. 30, 2012) - NBAA - As Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW308C engine readies to power the new Dassault Falcon 2000S business jet, it will also be preparing to celebrate yet another major milestone: a million hours of flight powering 250 Dassault 2000EX, LX, and 2000DX models. The approaching milestone, expected by year end, was announced today at the National Business Aviation Association's 65th annual meeting and convention in Orlando, Florida. P&WC is a United Technologies Corp. company (NYSE:UTX).

For the Falcon 2000S, on display at NBAA, P&WC has developed an enhanced version of the PW308C engine that will deliver the same best-in-class reliability and durability while providing lower NOx (nitrous oxide) emissions and smoke levels.

"The end of this year will actually see us reach a number of important milestones in the PW300 family," said Mike Perodeau, vice-president, marketing, P&WC. "The PW300 family will mark a total of 3,500 engines installed with more than 11 million flight hours. In addition to the million-hour milestone for the PW308C aboard the Falcon 2000 family, our PW307A will soon reach 500,000 hours powering Dassault's Falcon F7X. We are grateful for the trust our customers place in our engines."

Similar to the technology proven in the PW307A, the enhanced PW308C features a high-efficiency, reduced volume TALON II™ combustor (Technology for advanced low NOx) and new air blast fuel nozzles, which are maintenance free until engine overhaul. The engine satisfies FAA, ICAO and CAEP/6 smoke and emission levels, and meets Zürich class 5 requirements for NOx levels, avoiding certain airport surcharges.
