QMI Content: Notice of Appointments

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - May 23, 2013) - It is with great pleasure that Yann Paquet, Vice-President, QMI Content Acquisitions, announces the appointment of four directors in the QMI Content Acquisition sector.

Senior Manager, Fiction & Variety

Sylvie Tremblay has been working in communications for over 25 years, both in TV distribution and content acquisition. She made her mark in the industry by supervising the Quebec-wide distribution of content catalogues belonging to Twentieth Century Fox, Columbia/TriStar (Sony), HBO, TF1, Europe Images, Canal + and Hearst Entertainment. In March 2001, Sylvie joined the TVA Programming team as Director of Acquisitions.

Director, Strategic Intelligence & Content Research

Lucie Quenneville has been working in communications for many years, in the fields of programming, production and international acquisitions. As a former Vice-President of Programming for the V network, she contributed to the development of that station's new identity. At Quebecor, she participated in the launch of the Illico On Demand platform as Senior Programming Manager. She has also held various managerial positions in programming and international acquisitions at TQS and Radio-Canada.

Director, Magazine, Documentary & Youth Programming

With over 20 years of experience in national and international distribution, Sonia Thibault has acquired solid expertise in the television industry, first as Vice-President of Muse Distribution, and later on at Distributions La Fête. She then moved on the NFB, where she worked for eight years developing the Asia-Pacific market, before heading the National Sales efforts for TV and theatrical movies. Since April 2010, Sonia has held the position of Head of Acquisitions for the TVA Group's specialty channels.

Director, Variety & Multiplatform Content

As a lawyer, Christine Maestracci has worked in business law for over 18 years. In 2003, she joined the Quebecor Media team as Director, Legal Affairs, advising QMI affiliates in issues dealing with the production, exploitation and distribution of multiplatform content. In May 2011, Christine was named Director, Business Relations and Contractual Agreements, at Videotron, where she oversaw negotiations with multiplatform video-on-demand producers and distributors, as well as for Videotron and Indigo pay-per-view TV channels. Christine will report to Sylvie Tremblay.

These appointments follow Quebecor Media's February 6 launch of a new business division called QMI Content, whose mandate is to create, develop, acquire, broadcast and export audiovisual content.

The main goal of QMI Content's Acquisitions Sector is to ensure strategic intelligence and research for content and formats aimed at all platforms within the QMI group, as well as to develop and manage business relationships with distributors and other rights holders in Quebec, Canada and abroad, and to negotiate content and format acquisition agreements.
