Quad Cities Orthopaedic Surgeon Presents Innovative Research at International Conference

For instance, they indicate that these advanced techniques typically can reduce recovery time, postoperative pain, and scarring as evidenced by the case study documented by Elizabeth Kabel, DPT. Dr. Elizabeth Kabel presented a case report on a 23-year old professional motocross racer who returned to motocross one week after a surgery performed by Dr. Cobb.

In the case of chronic distal biceps repairs, Dr. Cobb explains that with his minimally invasive endoscopic approach the surgery is completed through a small cosmetically pleasing incision. Using this approach, tendon grafts are usually not necessary to treat chronic BTR thereby saving the patient the extra surgery typically used to harvest a tendon. Dr. Cobb's minimally invasive approach also more accurately restores the normal tendon length and appearance. The normal symmetry is very important to many patients including body builders.
