Quad Cities Orthopaedic Surgeon to Lecture at Dutch Wrist Arthroscopy Course

DAVENPORT, IA--(Marketwired - Sep 12, 2014) - Dr. Tyson Cobb, an orthopaedic surgeon in the Quad Cities, has been invited to lecture at the Dutch Wrist Arthroscopy Course being held this month in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This course is endorsed by the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society and affiliated with the Dutch Society for Hand Surgery. In addition to being part of the lecture portion of the course, Dr. Cobb will be sharing the responsibility of teaching laboratory with another international faculty member, Dr. Jan-Ragnar Haugstvedt, an orthopedic surgeon from Norway specializing in surgical treatment of the upper extremity. Both doctors are members of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society.

For the lecture, Dr. Cobb will be teaching on minimally invasive surgical techniques for the hand and upper extremity -- more specifically, new arthroscopic treatments for thumb arthritis and wrist arthritis. He will also instruct on minimally invasive treatments for nerve decompression and ligament injuries in both the lecture hall as well as the hands-on cadaveric portion of the lab.

The cadaveric lab section will provide hands-on experience for surgeons wishing to master these new minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Cobb explains that the goal of the lab is to help participants take away an updated knowledge of new minimally invasive procedures for the hand and wrist. Participants interested in the new arthroscopic procedures will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with new instrumentation and equipment.
