Quadra Mining Elects Not to Continue with Magistral

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 27, 2005) - Quadra Mining Ltd. (TSX:QUA) ("Quadra") has elected not to proceed with further development of the Magistral Project in Peru and will withdraw from the Investment and Operating Agreement dated March 3, 2005 (the "Agreement") between Quadra, Inca Pacific Resources Inc., and Minera Ancash Cobre, S.A.

After completing additional drilling, geological modelling, metallurgy and cost analysis, Quadra has concluded that the Magistral Project does not meet the Company's investment criteria. Quadra's management responsibilities and financial commitments will conclude on October 31st, 2005 pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, after which time Quadra will have no further interest in the Magistral Project.
