QualityLogic Offers Onsite XPS Technology Training

Helps Companies Jumpstart Windows XPS Print Path for New Product Development

MOORPARK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 11, 2006 -- QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com), a provider of leading-edge QA and QC test tools and services for the imaging and telecommunications industries, is the first company to offer independent training classes for Microsoft XML Paper Specification (XPS) technology. XPS Document is Microsoft's new document and print format. The two-day classes are designed for developers and QA engineering teams that are starting to work with XPS technology. Earlier this year, in the first phase of its XPS training program, QualityLogic completed successful public training sessions in the U.S. and Japan. Now, they are entering the second phase by providing a two-day training course onsite at customer locations.

"We've just started offering the onsite course and by the end of the first month, we will have trained 80-plus engineers from some of the highest profile companies in the industry," said James Mater, QualityLogic president and CEO. "The feedback has been great. Participants said they got a comprehensive introduction to XPS, and that the course will be very useful to them. The onsite class is an opportunity for companies to give their engineering teams a real head start on XPS product development."

The QualityLogic class is a basic tutorial on all aspects of XPS, including markup and packaging. It was designed by Jim Zuber, CTO of QualityLogic (and a leading expert in testing printer drivers and page description languages) and is taught by Jim or a member of the QualityLogic technical team. Pricing for instruction is $12,950 for up to 10 students, and $16,950 for 11 to 20 attendees.

The class consists of lectures about the technology alternating with workshops where the team will gain hands-on experience with XPS. By the end of the class, the team will have a firm understanding of XPS and will be able to isolate problems in an XPS package. The class also introduces students to the test and development tools available from QualityLogic, Microsoft and other vendors that can make implementing and testing XPS technology much easier and faster.

"We expect that many companies that develop printer technology or applications that have print capabilities will be interested in this course," continued Mater. "So, in addition to enrolling companies ourselves, we are open to professional conference or technology training companies that would like to work with us to coordinate these courses."
