QualityLogic Offers XPS Technology Training in US and Japan

Printer, Software and Other Companies Can Ensure Future Products Are Compatible With XPS Document

MOORPARK, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 8, 2005 -- QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) is offering its XPS (XML Paper Specification) technology training course in both the US and Japan early in 2006. The class is for printer, software and other companies that need to make sure their future products are compatible with XPS, Microsoft's new document and print format for its next client operating system, Windows Vista. The three-day class will be offered January 18-20 in Thousand Oaks, CA, and February 8-10 in Tsukuba City, Japan. The cost is $1,995, and includes class material, computer usage and meals. Early bird discounts are available. The cost for students who register on or before December 16 is $1,495 -- a $500 savings. For students registering between December 17 and December 31, the cost is $1,695 -- a $300 savings.

"In order to test, develop, or support XPS implementations, development teams will need a solid understanding of the XPS technology," said James Mater, QualityLogic president and CEO. "Companies can kick-start their XPS product development by sending team members to one of our classes. While the class is designed for QA staff members responsible for testing XPS implementations, people in engineering or support roles will also benefit from this training."

The class will be a basic tutorial on all aspects of XPS, including markup and packaging. Classroom time will alternate between technology lectures and hands-on workshops where students experience working with XPS. The course is designed and taught by Jim Zuber, CTO of QualityLogic, and the leading expert in the area of testing printer drivers and page description languages.

At one of the workshop sessions, Microsoft staff will discuss and demonstrate their XPS related test tools that will be provided to the developer community. Students will have an opportunity to experiment with some of these tools. By the end of the class, students will have a good understanding of XPS and be able to isolate problems in an XPS package.

"This is the first independent training program on XPS technology," said Jim Friedah, chief operating officer of Global Graphics. "We're pleased to be included in the training and are sending our own staff to both learn and contribute to this valuable course. Anyone working with XPS can benefit from it."
