Quarter Million Dollars Saved in Under Two Years -- Less Than a Dollar at a Time

New Program Helps 1,000 TopLine Members Save More by Automatically Putting Extra Pennies Directly Into Savings Account

MAPLE GROVE, MN--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2013) - TopLine Federal Credit Union is celebrating the success of its round-up savings transfer program, Sum-It-Up Savings™. In the first two years of the program, over 1,000 TopLine Federal Credit Union members cumulatively saved nearly $250,000 in their personal savings accounts.

Each time TopLine members who enroll in the transfer program make a purchase or ATM transaction with their TopLine Check Card, the total is automatically rounded up to the nearest whole dollar -- and the difference is transferred into their savings account. TopLine's members add slowly and steadily to their savings, just by doing what they're doing every day -- using the debit card tied to their TopLine checking account to pay for groceries, gas and other purchases.

TopLine member Jordan Parks signed up for Sum-It-Up Savings in 2011. "I signed up because the program was innovative, and I was getting ready to save to buy my first house," says Parks. "All I had to do was use my TopLine debit card -- it was so easy. In fact, I just bought my house this spring, and my Sum-It-Up Savings account played a role in making my down payment."

"TopLine was a leader in our market in offering a product like this -- and we see that it has given many of our members a completely painless way to save," says Harry Carter, TopLine president and CEO. "It's been inspirational to see members saving money for many things -- that first home down payment, building back up emergency reserves, growing a vacation fund, or creating a child's first savings account."
