MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 21, 2016) - Qubole, the big data-as-a-service company, today announced that it has made two new additions to its executive team in key leadership roles. David Hsieh has been appointed senior vice president of marketing and Ken Tamura as vice president of finance. The announcement comes as the latest in a series of appointments to support Qubole's critical operational functions as the company continues its aggressive growth and global expansion.
Hsieh has more than two decades of experience with Software-as-a-Service, cloud and data warehouse technologies, and most recently served as vice president of marketing at Instart Logic. He also held executive marketing positions with Ubiquiti Networks, Cisco, Webex Communications, Inc. and Sybase, and successfully helped lead both LBMS and Ubiquiti Networks through their IPO processes. In his role as senior vice president of marketing, Hsieh will head Qubole's brand and marketing strategy, as well as lead generation and sales enablement.
"I am thrilled to be joining Qubole at this pivotal time in the company's growth. In addition to completing an impressive Series C funding round in January, Qubole has continued to prove itself as an industry leader and set the agenda for how enterprises handle their big data," said David Hsieh, Qubole's senior vice president of marketing. "Its impressive roster of top-tier customers and recognized technical innovation make it one of the most transformative players in the data industry today."
In his role as vice president of finance, Tamura is responsible for Qubole's finance, accounting and business intelligence. Before joining the company, he served as vice president of finance at Airware Inc., and has held leading financial roles with Autodesk Inc., Scient Corp. and The Walt Disney Company. Tamura has a proven track record building high performing teams and helping emerging businesses accelerate the top line while optimizing the deployment of capital.
"We are thrilled to welcome David and Ken to our team," said Ashish Thusoo, CEO and co-founder of Qubole. "Together, their knowledge and expertise will play a crucial role in growing Qubole to meet the market demand and pursuing new avenues of customer acquisition as more enterprises move away from datacenters and into the cloud."
