Quebecor World Logistics Joins SmartWay With Highest Score Possible

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 10, 2008) - Quebecor World Inc. (TSX:IQW) is pleased to announce its recent partnership with SmartWay Transport, a program developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution and to improve fuel efficiency of ground freight transportation. Quebecor World Logistics has long aligned its goals with the SmartWay initiative, proof of which is that it entered this program with the highest score possible.

"We are very proud to say that it has always been and it will always be a highly regarded goal of Quebecor World Logistics to not only be environmentally conscious, but to maximize our dedication to leading the industry in environmental responsibility. This relationship with SmartWay is an excellent way for us to do our part to ensure that we are continuously finding more environmentally sound ways to do our jobs," stated QWL Senior Vice President of Operations, Tom Lohan.

Quebecor World Logistics is devoted to ensuring that all distribution partners concentrate their efforts on the primary fundamental of the SmartWay program: establishing partnerships that reduce transportation-related emissions and simultaneously improve air quality. "SmartWay has created a necessary measuring stick within the industry; a way to promote and reward environmental efficiency. QWL has always held high standards for our carriers and SmartWay is an effective network to breed healthy competition among the carriers lagging behind in environmental awareness," said QWL President, Brad Nathan.

SmartWay Transport Partners are trade and professional associations, nonprofit environmental, energy and community organizations, as well as school and university groups that are committed to promoting greater energy efficiency and air quality within the freight transport sector. Affiliates promote the SmartWay Transport Partnership and explain the business and environmental benefits of participation in SmartWay to their members.

Quebecor World Logistics was proud to achieve SmartWay's highest performance score, a 1.25. A score of 1.25 represents outstanding environmental performance. Companies like Quebecor World with a score of 1.25 already are utilizing most of the commercially available fuel saving strategies and are actively evaluating the latest emerging technologies. Companies that score 1.25 are awarded the honor of displaying the SmartWay Transport Partner logo, EPA's symbol for superior fuel efficiency and environmental performance (
