Quepasa Corp Launches "Locals" to Let Users Start Out as Friends This Valentine's Day

92% of Members Prefer Romance to Start Out as Friendship; 54% Have Met in Person

NEW HOPE, PA--(Marketwire - Feb 14, 2012) - Quepasa Corporation (NYSE Amex: QPSA), the public market leader for social discovery and owner of North-American platform myYearbook and Latin-American platform Quepasa, today announced the launch of "Locals" on myYearbook, a new feature that enables myYearbook's 30+ million users to meet new people in their local communities. myYearbook Locals is available now on Android and the company plans to launch it soon on iPhone, iPad, and the web.

With its emphasis on connecting people based on proximity, myYearbook Locals makes it easier than ever for new friends to meet."

By tapping into GPS on the mobile device, Locals allows myYearbook members to run proximity-based searches to meet new people nearby, anywhere in the world, based upon their current location. Members can elect to restrict their search to people who are currently online and who match their age and gender.

"If you don't enjoy someone's company, if you don't like their jokes, if you can't stand their conversation, you shouldn't be with them.
