Quercus Publishing Plc: 'Lullabies for Little Criminals' Shortlisted for the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - April 21, 2008) - Quercus Publishing Plc, the Plus-quoted publishing company, is delighted to announce that Heather O'Neill, the author of 'Lullabies for Little Criminals', has been nominated for the shortlist of The Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction 2008.

'Lullabies for Little Criminals', published by Quercus in January 2008, is Heather O'Neill's first novel. The book has already won the Best Novel 2007 at the QWF Award 2007 in Quebec and the book was also a finalist at the Grand Prix de Livre de Montreal for best book in the City award 2007.

'Lullabies for Little Criminals' tells the story of Baby, a twelve-year-old girl living in Montreal's red light district, still possessing the ability to convert the ugly and disturbing aspects of her world into things of beauty or fascination.

The Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction was established in 1996 to provide greater recognition to female authors. The award for Fiction will be presented on 4 June 2008.
