Quercus Publishing Plc: Shortlisted for 'PLUS Company of The Year Award'

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - April 28, 2008) - Quercus Publishing Plc, the PLUS-quoted publishing company, that the Company has been shortlisted for the 'PLUS Company of the Year' award at the 8th Growth Company Awards.

The Company began trading in May 2004 and floated on PLUS market in October 2006, raising GBP 2.8 million. Since then, Quercus has published a number of bestselling titles including 'Speeches that Changed the World', Stef Penney's 'The Tenderness of Wolves', which won the Costa Book of the Year Award in February 2007 and Peter Temple's 'The Broken Shore', which won the CWA Duncan Lawrie Dagger Award 2007. The Company has grown rapidly and become a well respected independent publisher in a short period of time.

The Growth Company Awards are unique within the industry as it's based on votes given by 1,692 AIM CEOs of the level of service that they have received from the brokers, nomad and analysts, PRs, accountants and solicitors working in this industry.
