QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator in low-power Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), is proud to announce the immediate availability of a new MIPI-DSI interface to LVDS display bridging solution for the DragonBoard™ development environment. This bridging solution is based on the ArcticLink® III VX5 platform, and provides the added benefits of improved display viewability and reduced system power consumption. QuickLogic is making the solution readily available to the large and growing base of developers for the Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S3 processor.

QuickLogic's ArcticLink III VX5 solution enables engineers incorporating Qualcomm Snapdragon processors into their designs to quickly and easily solve processor-display bridging issues, improve display viewability, and extend battery life for mobile applications. Specifically, the ArcticLink III VX5 solution provides an easy-to-implement bridge from the Snapdragon processor's MIPI-DSI interface to the LVDS standard used by many displays.

The ArcticLink III VX5 solution includes QuickLogic's Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) technology, based on the iridix® core from Apical Limited, and Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technology, allowing engineers to easily add these capabilities and evaluate their impact on the display visual experience and system battery life. The ArcticLink III VX5 device is designed to connect to the Snapdragon-based DragonBoard via a daughter card. The daughter card also incorporates an LVDS display, similar to those commonly found in tablets, for an easy visual examination of the results.

"We are very pleased to offer this display solution to the myDragonBoard community," said Mehul Kochar, senior business development manager for QuickLogic. "With this proven, working design, we've made it easy for DragonBoard users to implement the interface for their own displays and gain the immediate benefits of improved display viewability and extended battery life."
