Quin Hotel Presents Greg Furman, Founder and Chairman of the Luxury Marketing Council, in a Special 'Pop-Up' Artist Salon on February 11

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2015) - The Quin, New York's newest lifestyle hotel, has welcomed many of the world's leading business professionals in addition to some of the world's most exciting artists. It's a quintessential New York forte, however, to create a captivating experience by coupling professional expertise with artistic abilities. And so, the Quin is pleased to present the work of Greg Furman, Founder and Chairman of the Luxury Marketing Council, in a one-day "pop-up" artist salon on the evening of Wednesday, February 11, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

Furman is best known for his professional talents in leading The Luxury Marketing Council, which currently includes more than 1,000 luxury brands among its membership along with more than 5,000 individual CMOs and CEOs across 57 cities worldwide. Colleagues and business associates may not be aware that Furman is also a poet, sculptor and artist.

Furman's one-man show at the Quin will feature 25 original works, all acrylic on paper. The artwork will be on display in the newly-opened triplex Penthouse Suite on the 17th floor of the Quin, located at 57th and Sixth Avenue. The complimentary event is available through advance reservation.

"It's more important today than ever to engage business and the arts in imaginative, out-of-the box partnerships," said Furman. "I'm one of the Quin hotel's biggest fans," he added. "This approach marries culture and commerce, by leveraging art events to inspire artists and brands to work more closely together."

As to his artistic inspiration, Furman commented, "I have always been drawn to how the mysterious movement of imagination inspires action; to a reverence for the power of accident, chance and first choices in life and in art. I'm most content and engaged when following that inner voice or eye, trusting my own 'street sense' and abandoning precious notions of style. Painting for me is what I imagine downhill skiing must be for skiers: a rapid, exhilarating descent through form and color, trusting one's intuition, skill and nerve in real time."

Holly Breuche, General Manager of the Quin, commented, "Gregory has a discerning eye and truly understands the essence of luxury, and I know that is why he was drawn to partnering with the Quin." She added, "It's inspiring to see a business professional unabashedly expressing his passion for art. The Luxury Marketing Council has been a great asset for the Quin and we're so pleased to partner with the Council and with Greg in this way. Artistic expression is in the hotel's DNA, and this pop-up salon will afford our guests another compelling New York experience."

Furman's acrylics on display at the Quin explore three thematic areas: a "flowers" series; a "faces" series; and a series entitled, "Homage to Matisse." Information on attending the February 11 pop-up artist salon may be obtained by calling the Luxury Marketing Council at (717) 725-6175, or via email at nyrsvp@luxurycouncil.com. Reservations at the Quin are available by calling (855) 447-QUIN (7846) or online at http://www.theQuinhotel.com/
