Quixey -- the App Search Engine -- Launches Out of Private Beta and Introduces Tools to Power App Search Everywhere

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 23, 2011) - Quixey launches today taking a drastically different approach to app discovery. Quixey is powering app search across all platforms -- search for mobile, web, desktop and browser apps.

Why power app search? Quixey's goal is to make sure people can always find the apps they need. According to Co-Founder, Tomer Kagan:

"We want to give people the ability to easily find and use apps in their everyday life. Quixey's functional search solves the first part by being able to search for apps based on plain Englishdescriptions of problems, and now with the first set of partner tools we want to allow people to find those software solutions on whatever platform, anytime, anywhere."

Quixey's search is easily integrated into any platform, device or API. Partners can choose the apps they want to search from the existing Quixey database and add new apps to Quixey. Along with dynamic self-service solutions, Quixey's engineers work with partners to create highly customized search solutions.

Partners can choose what data they want integrated into their search. For example, partners can decide to display the CheckPoint security ratings for each app and even chose to display only apps that have been featured on TechCrunch, with many more customization options.

Everyone can partner with Quixey. Quixey's partnership program offers three different search solutions: a Plugin, a Search API and a Custom Search Solution. The Plugin and the Search API are self-service and installable today.

A few examples of Quixey partners include:

  • App Stores: any app store, on any platform
  • Platforms that want their users to easily access third party functionality: for example, browser add-ons and mobile devices
  • App review sites that want their users to be able to search through apps they've previously reviewed apps: sites with top ten app lists and tech blogs that cover apps
  • Publishers that want readers to be able to find apps about a certain subject without leaving the web page: for example, a health blog that wants users to be able to search health related apps on their site
  • Other App Discovery Tools: companies that make app discovery tools and need a search bar

Quixey launched today at TechCrunch Disrupt NYCas a sponsor.
