SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Nov 15, 2016) - Qumulo, the leader in data-aware scale-out NAS, today announced that it is introducing the availability of Qumulo Core scale-out file and object storage software on Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Apollo servers, providing enterprises in media and entertainment, life and earth sciences, telecommunications, cable, automotive and R&D organizations unprecedented choice and flexibility for storing and managing billions of files and objects. Qumulo has also joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)'s OEM Partner Program. Earlier today, Qumulo showcased continued company momentum, doubling customer acquisition count, more than doubling bookings and continuous product innovation with the announcement of Qumulo Core 2.5.
With this new partnership, Qumulo Core is available on HPE Apollo servers, offering flexibility for enterprise customers that want next-generation scale-out file and object storage software on-premises or private cloud workloads. Built for the highest levels of performance, capacity and efficiency, Qumulo Core on HPE Apollo servers is a future-proof solution for storing and managing hundreds of petabytes and tens of billions of files and objects, providing complete data-awareness of data footprint at extreme scale.
Qumulo Core available on HPE Apollo servers extends flexibility for customers adding a 2U option alongside Qumulo's QC-Series 1U and 4U commodity hardware appliances. With a starting capacity of 180TB raw per node, the HPE Apollo servers provide a denser footprint than existing QC-Series appliances.
Qumulo Core on HPE Apollo servers is the first commodity hardware platform option on the Qumulo Hardware Compatibility List (HCL). Qumulo Core's support on additional hardware configurations from HPE will be made available in the first half of 2017. The HPE OEM Partner Program and availability of Qumulo Core on HPE Apollo servers enable Qumulo to focus more resources on software innovation, in order to bring products to market faster.
"This new and exciting partnership between Qumulo and HPE gives enterprises vastly more choice when it comes to scale-out file and object storage software. CIOs and administrators of enterprise data storage increasingly expect to store data in a consistent way across any platform: Qumulo QC-Series appliances, HPE hardware, cloud instances, or VMs. In supporting HPE's hardware, building on our extremely portable Qumulo Core software, we are taking another step toward developing a ubiquitous enterprise data management platform. Looking forward, Qumulo will continue to bring data-awareness and extreme scalability to the platforms our customers demand.

"The portability, scalability and data-awareness of Qumulo Core provides customers with a next-generation software-only storage technology for storing and managing hundreds of petabytes and tens of billions of files. The combination of Qumulo Core software, ultra-dense HPE Apollo servers, along with Qumulo's world class customer support services, provides an excellent storage option for customers seeking a scale-out file and object storage solution."
- Mike Vildibill, Vice President, HPC Storage, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
"Right from the word go Qumulo had stated that their IP was in software although they went to market with an appliance form factor. They have already shown what a true data-aware scale-out file and object storage appliance can do for applications that have to deal with millions or billions of files. With the announcement that Qumulo Core is available on HPE servers Qumulo presents the proof point that the software was indeed designed to run on industry standard x86 servers. Now customers who have strategic relationships with HPE can fully enjoy the benefits of a high performance web-scale file and object solution. I am sure more partnerships like this one are in the cards."
