QuorumLabs Expands Executive Staff as New Customers Drive onQ Growth

More Than 1,000 Servers Worldwide Protected by onQ Site Recovery Appliance

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 7, 2011) - QuorumLabs today announced several additions to its executive staff to meet the growing demand from new customers who are choosing the onQ Site Recovery Appliance over competing offerings in order to easily recover their data within minutes of any server, storage or complete site failure. Three newly-appointed vice presidents have joined QuorumLabs: Guljit Khurani, vice president of sales engineering; Steve LaPedis, vice president of marketing; and Chester Menzione, vice president of channel sales.

Today's announcement marks a key company milestone with more than 1,000 servers now protected by the onQ appliance. Customers such as Georgetown Savings Bank (Mass.), Mid-Wisconsin Bank (Wis.), Ecom Access (Canada), and the Arizona Medical Board (Ariz.) are among those who have helped QuorumLabs rapidly grow its customer base in the U.S. and abroad.

"With a normal disaster recovery solution, we'd have to duplicate our entire infrastructure offsite, which would involve purchasing multiple servers, and more," said James Gentile, CIO, Arizona Medical Board. "We chose onQ because it's an all-in-one solution that gives us complete disaster recovery within a pair of appliances, saving us money and eliminating unnecessary overhead. We love the ease and simple elegance of onQ."

"Historically, backup has provided a somewhat false sense of security," said Eric Slack, senior analyst with Storage Switzerland. "Many companies found that there was a sizeable gap between restoring backed up data and actually continuing the business. onQ closes this gap and gives companies of any size the ability to restore critical applications in a few minutes about as easily as putting in a backup storage device."

To meet the growing demand from customers and resellers, the following executives have joined the QuorumLabs executive staff:

  • Guljit Khurani, vice president of sales engineering - Guljit is a respected technologist and entrepreneur and a frequent speaker at industry events. Most recently, Guljit served as president and CEO of Centrifuge Systems. Prior to that, Guljit was vice president of product development at webMethods. Guljit has also held leadership positions at Talarian Corporation (now Tibco), Segue Software (now Borland), and National Computer Systems.
  • Steve LaPedis, vice president of marketing - Steve LaPedis has over fifteen years of experience in high technology marketing. Most recently he served as vice president of global SaaS marketing at Webroot, where he built out corporate, field, channel and international marketing and was instrumental in generating over 100 percent growth in enterprise sales. He has held senior marketing positions at various companies such as Exodus, Mercury Interactive, Wind River and Micro Focus. Prior to his time in marketing, Steve was an attorney for five years, practicing product liability litigation. He is a member of the California State Bar.
  • Chester Menzione, vice president of channel sales - Chet Menzione brings over 20 years of sales and channel experience building results-oriented sales teams.
