Racecar Driver From Boston Utilizes Frozen Blood System

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 3, 2011) - Daxor Corporation (NYSE Amex: DXR) today announced that RJ Valentine, Chairman of the MBA Group, developers and leaders of innovative technology, financial services, marketing expertise, entrepreneurial ventures and international auto racer has added a new "life insurance" program to his highly competitive and successful racing team.

Signing a personal contract with Idant Laboratories, a subsidiary of Daxor Corporation (DXR), Mr. Valentine stored his own blood at Idant's facility in the Empire State Building in New York City. This blood will be available to Mr. Valentine (or any compatible person he designates) to have in the event a transfusion is needed for an unexpected surgery or accidental auto racing emergency that could occur in the highly competitive sport where on track speeds may reach as great as 205 mph.

The frozen autologous (your own blood) storage is an exclusive service that offers sophisticated, high-tech and superior safety enhancements unavailable from any other blood banking source, including donations from family and friends, Mr. Valentine noted. According to the American Medical Association the safest blood to transfuse is your own when it its available.

Despite improved blood testing some surgeons are reluctant to transfuse a person because some pathogens may be undetectable in some donors who test negative. Recent studies have shown blood which can be refrigerated for up to 42 days shows some decrease in oxygen carrying capacity. By freezing and storing blood at an ultra low temperature it retains more key enzymes. It is always important to remember that the benefits of receiving a transfusion from donor blood far outweighs the risks of not receiving a transfusion.

Mr. Valentine and the MBA Group have also achieved success in business as he has on the racetrack. Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts, the MBA Group owns and operates commercial operations in such diverse industries as insurance, real estate, oil and gas, corporate hospitality, business aviation and corporate investigative services.

Mr. Valentine's latest venture is focused exclusively on kart racing, a fully fledged international sport of smaller, more economical auto racers for amateur drivers. He also imports and distributes karts, engines, plus arranges events and organizations for both dealers and racers.

Idant Laboratories is the oldest frozen autologous blood bank in the United States and is a subsidiary of Daxor Corporation (DXR), a medical instrumentation company and manufacturer of the BVA-100 Blood Volume Analyzer. NYU Medical Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Medical Center and Hospital for Joint Diseases are a few of the hospitals to offer patients Idant Labs' frozen autologous blood storage service,
