Radialpoint Joins ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Product Developers Consortium

MONTREAL, CANADA--(Marketwire - June 25, 2008) - Radialpoint, a leading provider of managed Internet security and care services to the world's largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs), today announced that it has joined the Anti-Virus Product Developers Consortium (AVPD). Led by ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business, the industry group develops criteria standards and conducts certification testing of anti-virus products and solutions.

Since its inception in 1991, the consortium has attracted an international group of anti-virus software developers that represent many of today's market leaders. The mission of the AVPD is to use the expertise of its members to continually identify and evaluate security issues, develop certification guidelines, design knowledge and information-based solutions, and promote confidence in the use of anti-virus products worldwide.

"The insight we're gaining from Radialpoint's experience with malware issues will assist ICSA Labs in developing criteria that allow for objective product testing," said George Japak, managing director, ICSA Labs. "Together, ICSA Labs, Radialpoint and the Anti-Virus Product Developers Consortium are driving the development of superior products through testing and certification, and increasing customer confidence in their functionality."

The Radialpoint Virus Protection Service helps defend against threats such as viruses, Trojans and worms by scanning, detecting and disinfecting the subscriber's computer. The service automatically updates, keeping users constantly protected. The Radialpoint Virus Protection Service is currently available in North America and Europe through vendors including Verizon, Bell Canada, TELUS and Virgin Media.

"Protecting consumers online isn't the job of a single organization or company, but the industry as a whole. We are excited to be working with other leaders in the field to strengthen our collective response to the pervasive threat of computer viruses," said Hamnett Hill, CEO of Radialpoint. "Through our participation in the ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Product Developers Consortium, we reinforce our commitment to helping create a better, safer Internet and continue to develop the best possible protective technologies for our ISP partners and their subscribers."

ICSA Labs offers vendor-neutral testing and certification for hundreds of the world's top security products including many of the anti-virus, firewall, IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, network IPS and anti-spyware products commonly deployed today.
