Raditaz Partners With The Echo Nest to Deliver Data to 14M Songs -- Beating Pandora's Music Discoverability by 15x

GLASTONBURY, CT--(Marketwire - Apr 5, 2012) - Raditaz, pioneering the future of Internet radio, today announced that it has joined forces with The Echo Nest, a music intelligence platform powering smarter apps across the web and devices, to deliver a new and better way for audiences to create personalized Raditaz stations, and to discover more artists and tracks within these stations. By bringing in Echo Nest data to 14M songs, Raditaz has more music and a better engine to discover music vs. the competition.

Pandora's Achilles heel is repetition and a lack of diversity within personalized stations. By partnering with The Echo Nest, Raditaz now lets its users enjoy better personalization than on any other internet radio platform:

  • Users can create stations with up to 5 artists or 5 songs
  • Users can adjust artist and song popularity in order to refine their stations to meet their personal preferences
  • Users can now preview their stations to see which artists and songs will be included, and make tweaks based on personal preference

The ability to swap out artists and adjust popularity to drive new music discovery flips the Pandora model on its head, putting the personalization in the users' hands, rather than at the mercy of an algorithm driven by limited data, with access to a small pool of songs.
