Radware and Aventail Expand Partnership for Large-Scale Remote Access Solution

Companies' Best-of-Breed Approach to Global Fault Tolerant SSL VPN Delivers Highest Level of Security, Scalability and Application Access

MAHWAH, NJ and SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 6, 2005 -- Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR) and Aventail ( are expanding their technology partnership by introducing a global, high-availability SSL VPN enterprise access strategy. The two firms already guarantee interoperability between their two technologies based on engineering and customer tests between Aventail's SSL VPN and Radware's Application Switch platforms. Now, the two firms are matching a cluster of up to six Aventail EX-1500 appliances with Radware WSD, its global high-availability load balancing solution, for large-scale, multi-site deployments, supporting up to 50,000 users or more.

With this highly scalable joint solution, Radware and Aventail are targeting large enterprises requiring best-of-breed technologies for remote access and application security. Radware and Aventail's best-of-breed solution provides an industry-leading global SSL VPN and a competitive alternative to the "all-in-one" integrated security appliances that often compromise performance, reliability or scalability.

"Vendors that are focused on a core technology, like Aventail and Radware, are always at the cutting edge of innovation, which allows us to provide our customers the best technology for their needs," said Tim Hebert, CTO, Atrion Networking Corporation, a security networking solution provider that sells both Aventail and Radware products. "This joint solution is exactly the kind of best-of-breed security solution our customers require for a highly scalable remote access infrastructure."

Aventail's Smart SSL VPN provides universal application reach via either a Web-based or client access method, with greater security and control than other SSL VPNs. With Radware's Global High-Availability, Aventail SSL VPN users are always redirected to the fastest responding appliance and site regardless of geographic location, resulting in fast, uninterrupted VPN connectivity.

"SSL VPN and global load balancing/high availability are highly specialized disciplines best left to market leaders in each field, and our partnership with Aventail ensures our customers are receiving the highest-performing solution on the market today," said Dan Franklin, VP Business Development, Radware.

Key Benefits of the Joint Aventail - Radware Solution are:

-- Global, high-availability SSL VPN architecture with a cluster of
Aventail appliances and Radware's patented global load balancing
-- Always-on access and availability to critical applications like CRM,
    file shares or email.
-- Integrated bandwidth management to ensure optimized bandwidth
consumption, ensured QoS and economical scaling of SSL VPN access.
-- Integrated application security with granular access controls,
intrusion prevention, end point control, and Denial of Service protection.
"This joint solution is backed by a long-term strategic commitment and our channel partners and integrators worldwide benefit from extensive testing and documentation," said Sarah Daniels, vice president of product development and marketing, Aventail.

The two companies are also joining channel forces to provide a bundled solution for North American customers, with a global roll out planned for later 2005. The bundled solution is initially available through 20 value added resellers shared by Aventail and Radware.
