Raise a Rickard's and raise funds for the Ontario Association of Food Banks

TORONTO, ONTARIO--- Nov. 23, 2005

Attention News Editors: Food banks to receive 25 cents from pints of Rickard's sold over the holidays, with a target goal of $25,000

When you raise a pint of Rickard's at select bars and restaurants this holiday season, you will also be raising much-needed funds for the Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB).

From November 24 until December 25, the OAFB will receive 25 cents from pints of Rickard's sold at participating bars across the GTA. The objective is to raise $25,000 with the help of 86 establishments taking part in the fundraiser.

"While many of us look forward to the holidays as a celebration, hundreds of thousands of people across Ontario see it as the start of a long winter, struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table for their families," says Adam Spence, Executive Director, Ontario Association of Food Banks.
"We're thrilled to partner with Molson again this year to raise awareness and funds. Initiatives like the Rickard's fundraiser definitely help ease the strain felt during this important time of year."

Ontario food banks have the highest rate of use in the country, serving more than 338,000 people per month in 2005. The OAFB experienced a 4.8 per cent increase in use over last year, with one in four food banks actually not able to meet the food needs of those they serve.

"We're proud to be a supporter of this important cause, which is why we're encouraging everyone to head out this holiday season, order a pint of Rickard's and help make a difference."
