RALLY CANCELLED

OFL RALLY IN NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE - on Wednesday, October 19 at 12 noon has been cancelled Attention: Assignment Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 18, 2005) - After being notified by the Niagara Regional Police that Premier Dalton McGuinty will not be attending the conference in Niagara-on-the-Lake on Wednesday, October 19 the OFL has cancelled its scheduled noon hour Rally.

The Rally was to send a message to McGuinty that his government's ongoing push for P3s (public/private/partnerships) is strongly opposed by the Ontario Federation of Labour and its affiliated unions. The message, said OFL President Wayne Samuelson couldn't be clearer, "we want our public services rebuilt not sold off."

"While McGuinty may not be in Niagara tomorrow the issue of his government's continuing push for P3s will not go away," said Samuelson. "The OFL stands opposed to P3s and intends to fight against them throughout the province."
