Randy Lee Promoted to Director of Player Development

Adam Douglas Named Ottawa Senators Conditioning Coach

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today that the club has promoted Randy Lee to the new role of director of player development and named Adam Douglas the club's conditioning coach.

An Ottawa native, Lee, 46, recently completed his 13th season with the Senators as the team's conditioning and player development coach. The 2007-08 season marked Lee's 12th in that capacity after serving in the dual role of strength and conditioning coach and video coach for his first eight seasons. Lee graduated from Hamilton's McMaster University with a degree in physical education before completing his master's degree at the University of Ottawa, specializing in sports administration.

Lee's new role will see him focus on the development of players throughout the team's system, including prospects at the American Hockey League, college, junior hockey and European league levels. He will also continue to work with current Senator players, guiding them with all aspects of their development, both on and off the ice. Lee will continue to to oversee the team's development and rookie camps in addition to advising team management on the progress of all Senators prospects.

Originally from Mississauga, Ont., Douglas, 26, graduated from Queen's University with a bachelor of physical and health education and a bachelor of arts in health studies in May 2005. A certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified exercise physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, Douglas spent the last three years working at Ottawa's Athletic Conditioning Centre, overseeing various strength programs with a focus on sports performance.

While working with professional and amateur athletes in the Ottawa area, Douglas has spent the last year with Hockey Canada and the National Women's Hockey program, working with their high performance team as conditioning coach.
