Rannoch Corporation Acquires ERA to Create the Global Leader in Surface, Terminal and Wide Area Aircraft and Vehicle Tracking Solutions

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 30, 2006 --Rannoch Corporation today announced the acquisition of ERA a.s. to create a global business with clear leadership in next-generation ADS-B and multilateration surveillance technologies. Together, Rannoch and ERA provide solutions for over 120 commercial, air traffic control, and military customers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

A pioneer in cooperative surveillance systems such as ADS-B and multilateration, Rannoch possesses advanced technology and a substantial strategic patent portfolio. Rannoch now offers clear leadership in technologies that are the future of air traffic control, such as ADS-B, and also integrates proven and certified multilateration technologies to provide the bridge from the present state of aviation to a future of air travel that is safer, less costly and more efficient.

ERA's surveillance technology is type-certified to provide radar-like surveillance in a number of countries and is also understood to be the only multilateration system currently operationally deployed and certified for 3 nautical mile approach separation. Rannoch and ERA solutions are operating globally with hundreds of operational sensors covering over 500,000 square miles of the world's airspace.

"This is a tremendously exciting day, not only for the staff and management of both organizations, but for our customers as we realize the potential of the combined teams to offer the most comprehensive and technically advanced solutions," said Dave Ellison, President of Rannoch Corporation. "The ERA facilities are truly world class, ISO9000 accredited, and staffed with first rate engineers, many with decades of experience in radar and other surveillance technologies. With these manufacturing and R&D facilities, we are ideally positioned to meet the huge growth in demand for our systems, especially given the recent explosion of interest in ADS-B and wide area multilateration solutions."

ERA's Multilateration Surveillance System (MSS) is the most widely selected technology for airport surface movement systems and also the most advanced and proven wide area multilateration surveillance solution. Its VERA-E solution for military and homeland security provides passive location, identification and tracking of air, ground and naval targets through triangulation on radar, jammers, transponders, interrogators and other pulse emitters. VERA-E uniquely merges electronic intelligence (ELINT) features with the high precision surveillance features traditionally provided only by active radar.

All ERA solutions are modular and easily configurable and deployable for various purposes and different area environments including the most terrain-challenged geographies. Besides offering excellent accuracy and a wealth of provided information, the ERA systems provide trouble-free operation and reliability with a comprehensive control and monitoring system.

In recent years, ERA's advanced engineering and its reputation for project execution and on-time, high quality delivery has resulted in its selection for the majority of the world's next-generation surveillance projects, such as those in Spain, China, Chile, The Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Armenia, and South Africa.

Rannoch is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. ERA is located in Pardubice, Czech Republic. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
