Rapid Snack Inc. Receives Financial Support from Government of Canada

MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 28, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, today announced that the firm Rapid Snack Inc. has been granted financial assistance for equipment acquisition.

"Our Government believes the way to economic prosperity is through investments like this one that Rapid Snack Inc. is about to make to increase its production capacity and improve its competitiveness," said Minister Lebel.

Rapid Snack Inc. manufactures cereal and fruit bars and marshmallow squares. By automating its packaging processes, the company will be better equipped to diversify its markets and export its products to the United States.

The support from Canada Economic Development will enable Rapid Snack Inc. to acquire packaging machines and associated packaging line equipment.

"Our Government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.
