Ravelston Comments on Ruling by Judge Manning on
Pre-Trial Motions

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 14, 2005) - The Ravelston
Corporation Limited issued the following statement commenting on the
decision by Judge Blanche Manning to deny various pre-trial motions by
defendants in the case of Hollinger International v. Hollinger Inc. et
al.

"This decision by Judge Manning in no way reflects on the merits of the
claims in this lawsuit, which the defendants are continuing to
vigorously contest. For the purposes of these pre-trial motions, Judge
Manning was required to assume the truth of the facts alleged in the
pleadings, but she did not rule on their merits. The suit includes many
unproven and untrue allegations from the Special Committee Report that
are the subject of a substantial defamation claim in Canada. As we have
said before, we look forward to rebutting these allegations directly in
a court of law."
