Raven Industries Chooses UNIT4 CODA Best-of-Class Financial Software

Technology Manufacturer States Unified Ledger Rose to the Top Over Competition

MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwire - Jul 20, 2011) - UNIT4 CODA, Inc., a division of UNIT4, the world's leading provider of business software for fast-changing organizations, today announced that Raven Industries, a diversified technology company based in Sioux Falls, SD, has purchased Coda Financials as its financial management software.

Raven Industries outgrew its original accounting system and needed a solution that could handle the increasingly complex financial management issues of its discrete business units:

  • Applied Technology provides electronic Global Positioning System (GPS) products and information management tools designed to reduce operating costs and improve yields for the global agriculture market.
  • Engineered Films manufactures high-performance reinforced plastic sheeting for custom applications in industrial, construction, energy and agricultural markets.
  • Electronic Systems provides custom electronic manufacturing services, primarily printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies for North American original equipment manufacturers.
  • Aerostar designs and builds highly engineered aerostats for government and commercial applications including research, communications surveillance and intelligence gathering. Other products include military parachutes and specialty garments.

While the company evaluated many financial management systems, it chose Coda Financials for several reasons that differentiated it from the competition. Brian Meyer, CIO of Raven Industries, said, "With several fast-growing divisions across separate industries, Raven Industries needed a financial management solution that was flexible, scalable and able to give us the real-time data we needed across all lines of business. UNIT4 CODA's unified ledger was critical for us. It enables us to consolidate our data and work with different currencies across all the countries with whom we work. We also liked the design and the fact that the software was built by and for accountants."

In making the announcement, Steven J. Pugh, chief executive officer of UNIT4 CODA, said, "Coda Financials shines when organizations have very demanding accounting and reporting needs, as is the case with Raven Industries. The real-time reporting, the flexible chart of accounts that allows businesses to drill down to the most granular levels and the integration and scalability capabilities truly define it as a strategic, best-of-class solution to complex accounting needs."
