RAYMOND WEIL Announced as Title Partner of the First London Music Awards in Association With the Mayor of London

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - June 11, 2014) - RAYMOND WEIL, Luxury Swiss watchmaker, is to join forces with The Mayor of London's Fund for Young Musicians (Mayor's Music Fund), to host the inaugural London Music Awards, a glittering celebration of the capital's musical talent that will take place at the Roundhouse on Wednesday 11 June.

Hosted by Mayor Boris Johnson, this prestigious event is designed to recognize the achievements of London's aspiring young musicians, its rising stars and legendary performers. Amongst those set to perform on the night are Soul II Soul, Jermain Jackman (winner of The Voice UK 2014), BRIT School musician Natalie Shay, singer-song writer Kimberly Anne and pop star in the ascendant Laura Bettinson (AKA Femme). Compare for the event, Classic FM's DJ Margherita Taylor, will have the responsibility of ensuring the show proceedings run to time and will be joined by Channel 4 news legend Jon Snow.

RAYMOND WEIL's involvement with the London Music Awards stems from years of support for the music industry. As the brand that has always had music at its heart, RAYMOND WEIL continues to collaborate with the music industry's emerging talents, most prestigious artists, music awards ceremonies and music based charities.

The London Music Awards is the latest addition to RAYMOND WEIL's music-inspired marketing strategy and will become a significant part of the brand's activity from June. The awards night is an important fundraiser for the Mayor's Music Fund - a charity which nurtures and develops the potential of children with significant musical ability but limited finances, from across London's 32 boroughs. In just two years the charity has awarded grants worth £1.3m, helping over 14,000 young musicians.

Mayor Johnson says: "The Mayor's Music Fund is doing a fantastic job helping to nurture the potential of talented young musicians, who might not otherwise be able to develop their skills. As well as being a fundraiser, the London Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the talent that has helped ensure London's status as the music capital of the world."

"We are thrilled to play such as integral role in the London Music Awards given our association with the music industry at all levels, and especially to be able to continue to find and develop new talent. The London Music Awards offer RAYMOND WEIL a significant opportunity to help the Mayor's Music Fund to raise much-needed financial support for the thousands of young children in their journey to become the next generation of trained and skilled musicians, who will maintain London's status as the music capital of the world for years to come." - Says Elie Bernheim, Global CEO - RAYMOND WEIL

London Music Awards: Wednesday 11 June 2014 at The Roundhouse, London.
