RAYMOND WEIL, the luxury Swiss watchmaker today announces a design partnership with award winning classical guitarist and exclusive Deutsche Grammophon recording artist Miloš Karadaglic╠ü who has designed a special edition maestro timepiece to help raise funds and awareness for the Mladost Orphanage in Bijela, Montenegro.

Miloš Karadaglic╠ü selected the maestro collection, a collection that combines tradition and innovation. "Maestro" means "master", a person who excels in the practice of an art. Miloš is widely regarded as the leading talent in classical guitar and is known for his unique playing ability that allows him to dominate both core classical and pop classical camps.

The design inspiration for the RAYMOND WEIL Miloš Karadaglic╠ü special edition timepiece has come from the love and passion that Miloš has of his sense of connecting his music with his passion for his instrument - the guitar.

The Miloš Karadaglic╠ü special edition consists of a 39.5mm stainless steel case that houses a bespoke RW4200 mechanical automatic self-winding mechanism with visible balance wheel with rose gold highlighting. The dial design has been inspired by a guitar and features an intricate string design that wraps around the entire circumference of the watch dial that is highlighted by rose gold indexes and a rose gold plectrum. The finishing touch is a black leather strap with stainless steel folding clasp with double push-security system and an exhibition case featuring Miloš' signature.

We are delighted to have partnered with such as inspirational musician for this special design project. Miloš represents our classical music heritage, which is very much about conveying creativity through sophistication and intelligence. The special edition timepiece Miloš has created combines creativity with classism and is a true reflection of his character. We very much enjoyed the whole design process with Miloš" - Says Elie Bernheim, CEO - RAYMOND WEIL

The Miloš Karadaglic╠ü special edition project has been designed to raise awareness and much needed funds for his preferred charity, Mladost Orphanage. The charity, which was founded in 1946 is the only orphanage in Bijela, Montenegro, home to up to 160 children aged between one month and 18 years old. The home cares for children from different backgrounds - including those who were orphaned during the Balkan upheaval. The aim of the orphanage is to provide a safe place for its residence to grow and prepare for their independent adult lives by providing social support, high quality education and professional non-parental care.

RAYMOND WEIL will auction two Miloš Karadaglic╠ü special edition timepieces at selected auctions over the course of 2014 to raise funds to support the aims and objectives of the Mladost Orphanage. 100% of the proceeds generated at auction will be donated to the charity.

Based in Geneva, home of Switzerland's most prestigious watchmakers and of the industry's topmost expertise in component and material supply, the Brand enjoys a unique position in the exclusive world of luxury with a collection of refined timepieces that embody an elegant and contemporary blend of elements inspiring emotions with both customers and partners.

Music has always been at the centre of the RAYMOND WEIL universe. This is borne out by the names of the Brand's collections - taken from famous operas such as nabucco and parsifal, or with musical connotations, such as maestro or jasmine - and the various musical partnerships RAYMOND WEIL has signed with some of the most recognized concert halls, exclusive music awards ceremonies, live music platforms and music-related charities.

Emotions, precision, performance: these are the values common to music and watchmaking that RAYMOND WEIL wishes to share with its clients.

Miloš Karadaglić first started playing the guitar at the age of eight. By the time he was a teenager, the Yugoslav Wars were raging and, although Montenegro was spared from direct conflict, its citizens were isolated from the rest of Europe. Despite all obstacles, the 17 year-old Miloš successfully applied for a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music and moved to London, where he has continued to live while keeping close ties with his family and homeland.

His debut album was Mediterráno which topped the classical charts around the world in 2011, and earned him both the prestigious Grammophone Young Artist of the Year and Echo Klassik Newcomer of the Year awards. In 2012, he was named Classic BRIT MasterCard Breakthrough Artist of the Year for his second release Latino.

2012 was a breakthrough year on the concert stage for Miloš, with sold-out debut performances and tours in the UK, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.

Miloš' passion for the guitar is matched with an intuitive sense of how to bring the instrument across to his public - whether it be for an audience of 3000 in the Royal or an intimate chamber music performance for 100 people. He enjoys performing in the major concert halls as much as in non traditional venues such as New York's Le Poisson Rouge.

Miloš's 2013 schedule included recital tours of UK, US, Germany and Japan as well as concerto performances with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. His schedule remains as challenging and exciting as ever; performances with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, English Chamber Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Bangkok Symphony and NHK Symphony Orchestra (Japan) feature alongside recitals from Boston to Berkeley, Taipei to Turin and other appearances such as at the esteemed Verbier International Music Festival in Switzerland.
