RBC Appoints New Regional Vice President for Newfoundland & Labrador

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2010) - RBC Royal Bank today announced the appointment of Sean Munro as Regional Vice President for its operations in Newfoundland & Labrador.

As Regional Vice President, Sean will lead a team of more than 250 financial services professionals who work out of 18 branches serving the bank's 122,000 customers in the province. He will be based in St. John's.

With a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's University, 14 years in the financial services industry, and a career that encompasses account management, financial planning and being a regional sales manager, Sean brings a solid background of experience and expertise to his new role. Prior to this appointment he was Manager of Initiatives & Implementation at RBC's Atlantic Provinces Headquarters.

"Throughout his career, Sean has demonstrated a passion for superior client advice and service, developing and leading high performing teams, and achieving outstanding business results for our clients, communities and shareholders," said Greg Grice, Regional President, RBC, Atlantic Canada. "His number one priority will be ensuring RBC's personal and business clients throughout the province - from St. John's to Stephenville to Happy Valley - receive outstanding service and advice."

RBC has the largest team of financial planners of any bank in Atlantic Canada, and is also one of the region's largest corporate donors, having given almost $460,000 to a range of charitable organizations throughout Newfoundland & Labrador last year.

"It is gearing up to be an exciting 2010 with some exciting new offerings including the RBC Westjet Mastercard, and of course our wide range of existing high quality products and services," said Munro. "Our branches tend to be busy this time of year with many clients coming in for financial reviews and investment advice, so it will be a great chance for me to reconnect with some familiar faces and meet some new ones."
