RBC Provides Both On-the-Ground and Financial Support for NB Floods

SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - Dec. 20, 2010) - RBC today announced a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to help those most affected by the flooding in various areas of New Brunswick, including the Saint John River Valley, Charlotte County, and Miramichi.

In addition, the RBC Ready When the Time Comes team for Southern New Brunswick has been activated by the Red Cross and is assisting with registering individuals impacted by the flooding in the Disaster Operations Center established at the Saint John office of the Canadian Red Cross.

"Disasters like this are tragic any time of the year, but they are particularly hard felt over the holiday season. While we know there is no quick fix over night, we hope our support of disaster-relief trained employees and additional funding to the Red Cross will provide some comfort to those most affected by the flooding," said Stephen Slauenwhite, RBC's RVP for Western New Brunswick.

RBC clients are encouraged to speak to their branch if they are affected by the flooding and to register with the Canadian Red Cross.

"We also appreciate that many of our clients are worried about the financial impact of the floods," says Slauenwhite. "Everyone's situation is unique and deserves personalized and customized advice. We are here to help. If you have concerns, please visit or call one of our branches - our teams are there and ready to advise you on an individual, case by case basis."
