HONOLULU, HI--(Marketwire - Oct 24, 2012) - RCO Hawaii, a full-service mortgage banking law firm, today announced the launch of its October month of giving aimed at providing community service and sponsorships to vital non-profit organizations in Hawaii.
RCO Hawaii was a corporate sponsor and participant in the recent community scavenger hunt fundraising event to benefit the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. The Legal Aid Society provides legal support to people in cases where they cannot afford legal representation. At the event last week, the society's inaugural Justice Games Fundraiser encouraged participants to race around downtown Honolulu to compete against young professionals to win prizes and recognition.
The event took place on Friday, October 12th, 2012 and RCO Hawaii was a premier sponsor of the fundraiser, contributing $5,000 to the cause. The event secured $15,000 total in donations. The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii is a public interest, not-for-profit law firm whose mission is to achieve fairness and justice through legal advocacy, outreach and education for those in need.
Earlier this month, RCO Hawaii also participated in the Hawaiian Humane Society's annual PetWalk 2012 on October 7th. The Hawaiian Humane Society's mission is a joyful one featuring 30 programs and services focused on strengthening the human-animal bond: rescuing the abused, engaging volunteers, fighting for better laws and caring for nearly 30,000 animals a year.
"RCO Hawaii has a history of giving back to our local community and we believe this is the only way to truly make a lasting impact in the areas we serve," said Charles Prather, Managing Attorney at RCO Hawaii. "Our sponsorship of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii's scavenger hunt fundraising event and the Humane Society Pet Walk gave us the opportunity to support two worthwhile causes, get a little exercise, and have a little fun in the process. We look forward to participating in these events in the future."
