reWORKS Has Another Positive Test in University of Guelph Trials

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 8, 2007) - reWORKS Environmental Corp. (TSX VENTURE:REW), today announced that the University of Guelph Department of Plant Agriculture has reported on the results from greenhouse trials of vegetable transplants using its earthworm castings, which are produced by its wholly-owned operating subsidiary, Forterra Inc.

Dr. Mary Ruth McDonald of the University of Guelph Department of Plant Agriculture, reports that "the best quality vegetable transplants were produced with a growing medium that contained 20% worm castings and only 50% of the recommended rate of inorganic fertilizer. This combination also provided the best root growth and while also producing some of the greenest plants."

Reducing dependency on the use of synthetic fertilizers is an important and exciting result of these trials.

Vegetable plants consisting of lettuce, cabbage and celery were tested in the study. Transplants were measured in trials using Forterra earthworm castings in the growing mix. Different concentrations of worm castings and inorganic fertilizer were evaluated for their effect on seedling emergence, along with transplant weight, height and chlorophyll levels.

"These results continue to support our research and development efforts that demonstrate how Forterra earthworm castings are an effective, organic soil care solution for many horticultural applications", said Gary Gould, President of reWORKS. "We have an ongoing program of testing by accredited research organizations in vegetable production, nursery crop, turf management, floriculture and viticulture."
